Hi, I’m Lisa Gatti. I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a nutrition and digestive wellness expert who believes that when it comes to your health, food really matters.
You’re someone struggling with a digestive issue or chronic condition that’s getting worse, not better.
Your energy is not where it used to be, and you want it back, now!
But more than that, you’re motivated to feel really well again so you can focus on living the life you were meant to live.
Like you, my journey to understanding food as remedy began with a health crisis.
My journey here
Food has always been an integral part of my life. As a young girl, I remember sitting on the counter next to my mother as she prepared fresh ingredients for our family dinners.
But, my understanding of food as a pathway to healing didn’t come until later, after college and an eight year career in retail buying and planning for Saks Fifth Avenue and Polo Ralph Lauren.
It was during my first pregnancy when I discovered that simple changes in my diet and lifestyle made a dramatic impact on my health. For me, that meant choosing organic wholesome foods, pre-natal yoga and living green.
My Struggle, My Inspiration
Three years (and another child later) my life dramatically changed. My daughters were both diagnosed with sleep apnea, a chronic medical condition in which there is repeated loss of breathing during sleep. Standard medical practice, or surgery, failed to alleviate their symptoms.
When doctors, specialists and experts weren’t able to help, I read just about every health and nutrition book out there, and discovered something I hadn’t realized before, that food affects everything. By choosing an all natural whole foods diet, and eliminating trigger foods such as gluten, I was able to eliminate all symptoms of sleep apnea in both of my daughters.
Our journey is what prompted me to formerly study nutrition, and what drives me to do the work I do today.
But the journey didn’t end there. My children were healthy, but the stress of getting them there gave me an ulcer, literally. In getting them well, I got pretty sick. What began as an ulcer turned into chronic digestive problems and ultimately, a 2 year battle with Lyme Disease. Again, I turned to food. But, this time, I was already eating what I “should be” eating. My diet consisted of plenty of raw vegetables and fruit. I was eating the “five a day”. I even ate kale.
That’s when things began to click. Through more exploration in the kitchen, I learned what foods fueled me… and what foods didn’t. Through additional studies in functional nutrition, I learned that in order to heal I had to address the root cause of my health issues, my weak digestion. Through my experiences in school and in the kitchen, I discovered the best way to eat for me and found my own path to healing.
I have been in practice since then, helping clients find their own best way to eat to heal digestive issues and other frustrating conditions.
Today I am truly comfortable in my own body, and know what to do to support my best health. I have found a way of eating that’s right for me and that doesn’t involve deprivation. I have incredible energy, feel far better than I did in my twenties, and am passionate about life with my husband and (thankfully) two very healthy girls.
I believe that food really matters – and help people to understand the HUGE connection between what’s happening in their bodies and their food.
I’ve discovered that we are what we eat… and we are what our bodies can do with what we eat. Restoring the health of your digestive system is the most important thing you can do for your overall health.
I understand that when it comes to food and nutrition, no two people are the same. Together, we explore what works best for YOU, given your unique body and the reality of your life.
I feel incredibly drawn to help people learn how to eat to heal and thrive. And, am passionate about making the process of getting healthy simple and delicious.
You can still eat your chocolate!
