A winter hot chocolate with superfood upgrades. This healthy elixir contains cacao which is rich in serotonin (to boost your mood), magnesium (for calming energy) and really helpful in curbing cravings for less healthy sweets.
But what makes this hot chocolate truly sublime is another superfood that I adore… matcha. Matcha is a special type of powdered green tea grown and produced only in Japan. It’s a super healthy source of energy – great as an afternoon treat or to replace your morning cup of coffee.
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp cacao (not cocoa)
1-2 tbsp coconut sugar
1 tbsp matcha
Heat the almond milk, cacao, matcha and coconut sugar in a small pot.
For froth, whisk prior to serving.
